Future Design Center Incorporated Association [FDC] was founded in July 2009 to address various national problems which also face the world, such as problems of environment and resource, food supply, medical care and education. FDC aims to combine the leading technology and knowledge from Japan and overseas to suggest advanced models of solutions to these problems.

The active participation by entrepreneurs with a vision to cap ture the coming needs and trends, as well as the desire and ability to act, will be extremely important as we move forward to solve the problems in these FDC fields. The innovation by entrepreneurs can be a major driving force to break through and help us overcome the crisis particularly when we are facing the social stagnation.

The existence of those who try new attempts in society, and of ways for society to praise those who take on such challenges, is what gives rise to the advanced models of solutions which we truly need. They also fuel the growth of new industries. The most urgent need today is not scientific technologies but people with entrepreneurial spirit ready to take on the challenge of starting new businesses, and the creation of social culture and environment necessary to support them.

Kashiwanoha Campus (Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture), the home base of FDC, is connected to central Tokyo within just 30 minutes via T sukuba Express (TX) rail line. This area has an unusually high potential for startups, with the University of Tokyo Kashiwa Campus, Chiba University Kashiwanoha Campus, the National Cancer Center Hospital East and incubation facilities. There are innovative urban development projects already implemented in the area as well with close collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors which is beyond the conventional f ramework.
The environment is now being formed as an "innovation field" which will become a fitting base for the presentation of new advanced models.

Holding this Award in Kashiwanoha Campus, as the base of innovation, we aspire to build a network of ambitious entrepreneurs from Asian countries with continuing strong economic growth, as well as to create the environment and human resources which will construct the Asian economy in the future. More than anything, it is our hope that this Award provides encouragement to the brightest Asian entrepreneurs to transform the world with their leaderships.
