Outline

Asian Entrepreneurship Award 2012 is the international business competition that will pull together young Asian entrepreneurs and be held in Japan for three days.

When young entrepreneurs have exciting and valuable experience of mutually learning from and being inspired by peers from all over the world, they can gain huge confidence to overcome numerous difficulties and move forward with their own businesses. This Award will offer a three-day program as a part of an innovation creating project led by Japan in collaboration with other Asian countries, in an effort to create a big network for entrepreneurship development attracting mentors and venture capitalists from Asia and the world.

The program, including keynote speeches scheduled for May 10th and guest lectures and semi-finals/finals scheduled for May 11th, will be open to anyone (click here for an application). In addition, for entrepreneurs who will make presentations in semi-finals/finals as representatives of Asia, we will offer an opportunity to experience Japanese tradition and local culture through an excursion scheduled for May 9th (click here for the excursion program).

 

 

Award procedure

Asian Entrepreneurship Award 2012 has selected one or more members from each of 12 Asian countries/regions to form “Asian Entrepreneurship Award 2012 -Nominating Committee” (Chairman: Mr. Shigeo Kagami, Professor of the University of Tokyo).

Basically, only unlisted technology start-ups within 5 years of establishment(or 5 years in operation) may enter the Award through nomination by a Nominating Committee member from each country.

Asian Entrepreneurship Award 2012 is expecting 18 startup entrants through nomination by a Nominating Committee member.

Startup entrants will be competing in the semi-final on May 11th after the mentoring session on May 10th.

In the semi-final and final review, “Asian Entrepreneurship Award 2012 -Awards Committee” (Chairman: Mr. Masaru Murai, TX Entrepreneur Partners President) will conduct strict and impartial review.

Six out of semifinalists will be selected to advance to the first prize winner, the second prize winner, the third prize winner,and the Chiba Prefecture Governor's Prize will be determined.

 

Intel-DST Asia Pacific Challenge

The best Japanese startup from Asian Entrepreneurship Award 2012 will receive an opportunity to participate Intel-DST Asia Pacific Challenge which is scheduled Jul. 31 - Aug 3 in Bangalore, India. Intel-DST Asia Pacific Challenge is an entrepreneurship competition sponsored by Intel and Department of Science & Technology of India to inspire and foster entrepreneurship mind and skills, where top 2 teams will have an opportunity to compete at Intel Global Challenge at UC Berkeley scheduled in Nov. 2012.
