Dai TAMESUE
Former professional track and field athlete
Representative Director, Athlete Society

Dai TAMESUE Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1978, Mr. Tamesue became the first Japanese to win a bronze medal in the men's 400 meter hurdles at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton. He also won the second bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki and was the first Japanese who won two medals in a World Championship track event. He participated in three Olympic Games – Sydney, Athens and Beijing.
In 2003, he left Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. and turned professional.
He relocated to San Diego, U.S.A. in 2009.
He founded the Athlete Society, a general incorporated association, in 2010 to support athletes to become socially independent, where he currently serves as representative director.
In 2011, Mr. Tamesue set up his own running club, CHASKI, in his home province, Hiroshima. He helps children improve their ability to exercise and study in the track and field class.
Moreover, right after the occurrence of the Great East Japan Earthquake, Mr. Tamesue established “TEAM JAPAN” through his official website and invited many athletes to take part, crossing the boundaries of the sport games and competitions. Thus, he has been active in a wide range of fields.
The Japan Championships in Athletics held in Osaka in June 2012 was his final event before retirement from his 25-year career.

Akira MORIKAWA
CEO, LINE Corporation

Akira MORIKAWA Born in 1967, Mr. Akira Morikawa graduated from the University of Tsukuba in 1989 and joined Nippon Television Network Corporation. While involved in a wide range of media businesses, mainly new business projects, he obtained an MBA from the Graduate School of International Politics, Economics and Communication, Aoyama Gakuin University in 1999.

He then joined Sony Corporation and was in charge of new mobile content and broadband businesses. In 2003, he joined Hangame Japan (former NHN Japan), where he first served as general manager, being responsible for the management of Hangame’s overall business, then as director, before becoming vice president in October 2006 and president in October 2007.

In November the same year, Naver Japan was established and he became president of the newly established company (while doubling as president of NHN Japan).
In January 2012, NHN Japan, Naver Japan, and Livedoor merged. He remained as president after the merger.
Since the split and the change of the trade name of NHN Japan in April 2013, he has been CEO of the LINE Corporation that conducts web service-related businesses of “LINE,” “NAVER,” and “livedoor.”
